Deloitte South Asia CEO Romal Shetty said the firm, which currently has about 140,000 employees in India, plans to hire around 50,000 more people as it expands and opens new locations in the country. He said Deloitte is considering Mangaluru, Karnataka, for future growth, citing local talent and indicating it is likely only a matter of time before Deloitte moves there. Shetty also said India remains central to the global capability centre (GCC) landscape, with about 50% of global GCCs located in India, and noted that future GCC expansion is likely to increasingly involve Tier II and Tier III cities.
