PPAC is formally designated as the nodal agency to collect, compile and analyse information on petroleum products and natural gas. Specified entities, including producers and refiners, must furnish data on production, imports, exports, stocks, storage, allocation, transportation, consumption, supply and utilisation, aggregated or disaggregated by geography, time or consumer categories as specified. The gazette notification was issued on March 19, 2026. A Ministry joint secretary said the objective is to give PPAC’s existing mandate legal strength to improve implementability.

ION Storage Systems shipped sample Cornerstone cells in August 2025 to partners in industrial equipment, consumer electronics, and automotive sectors. A customer completed performance qualification by meeting strict performance standards set by that commercial partner. This is the first instance of a U.S. solid‑state battery company achieving customer performance validation. The qualification moves the technology beyond laboratory testing into real‑world customer evaluation. The company plans production to start in Maryland.

The approval applies to a site in Kemmerer, Wyoming and allows construction work to begin there. The Natrium design is sodium-cooled, using liquid sodium for cooling and heat transfer, with primary coolant circulation at lower pressure than water-cooled reactors. The excerpt describes sodium as highly reactive when exposed to air or water. Natrium is a fast-neutron reactor and is described as able to consume some isotopes that would otherwise become radioactive waste in traditional designs. The plant is described as 345 megawatts and includes energy storage as part of its design.

REMC Ltd conducted a 1,000 MW round‑the‑clock renewable energy e‑reverse auction. ACME Solar secured 130 MW with a bid of Rs 4.35 per unit. Indian Railways will procure power through direct power purchase agreements with winning bidders. Suppliers must deliver renewable energy complemented by dispatchable sources and/or energy storage from ISTS‑connected projects to provide firm round‑the‑clock power per tender obligations.
