A What happened
A court in Vijayawada approved an A.P.-CID petition to close the APSSDC case against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and other accused. The ACB court’s January 12 order accepted the CID final report in Cr No 29/2021 and closed proceedings as “MISTAKE OF FACT” against all accused. Naidu was arrested by the CID on September 9, 2023, when he was Leader of Opposition, and was lodged in Rajamahendravaram Central prison for nearly 50 days before getting bail. YSRCP leader Sake Sailajanath condemned the closure and said YSRCP would continue a legal fight against it.
