Air India is currently facing substantial challenges, including an estimated loss of Rs 4,000 crore due to the closure of Pakistan's airspace, which has forced flights to take longer routes to North America and Europe. CEO Campbell Wilson highlighted various uncertainties affecting travel demand, such as global trade policies, regional conflicts, and the recent tragic crash of a Dreamliner aircraft that resulted in 260 fatalities. He noted that these unprecedented events, including the Israel-Iran conflict and tariffs imposed by the US, have created a challenging business environment. Despite these headwinds, Wilson remains optimistic, asserting that such uncertainties will not derail Air India's vision of becoming a world-class global airline with an Indian heart.
