Despite its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, tourism has been neglected. The state faces challenges such as inadequate accommodation facilities and lack of basic amenities. The government is encouraging diversified lodging options and upgrading infrastructure to international standards. Industry experts pointed out the importance of complementing tourism experiences and improving inbound promotions. The plan includes linking heritage sites like the Ramappa Temple and Taj Falaknuma Palace with eco-tourism initiatives, including 13 eco-tourism circuits and nature-based tourism frameworks overseen by the Forest Development Corporation. Training tribal youth as naturalists forms part of the inclusive growth plan. Culinary tourism, highlighting Telangana’s diverse cultures, is also a key component.
