The Telangana Government is making a significant shift towards renewable energy to meet the state's increasing power demands. In a recent Cabinet meeting, officials approved the signing of power purchase agreements for 3,000 MW of solar energy and 2,000 MW of pumped storage power. This decision reflects a commitment to sustainable energy sources. New industrial units will now have the option to generate their own electricity without a maximum limit, enhancing energy independence. The Cabinet also discussed the establishment of an 800 MW thermal power plant at Ramagundam, aiming to upgrade existing facilities.
