BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi has urged the Karnataka state government to investigate an officer from the Hukkeri Tahsildar office for allegedly submitting a false affidavit to the High Court. The affidavit claimed that the Bedar Valmiki community, which has received Scheduled Tribes benefits for over fifty years, is not classified as such. Jarkiholi believes that the officer acted under political pressure, particularly from Ramesh Katti, who is accused of insulting the community during recent elections. He plans to raise this issue in the Winter Session and consult with community leaders about possible protests or legal actions. Jarkiholi expressed disappointment that such incidents occur despite the current leadership being from backward and Scheduled Castes communities.
