On November 26, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Safran Aircraft Engine Services India (SAESI) facility in Hyderabad, marking a pivotal moment for India's aviation industry. This facility is the first global MRO center established in India, focusing on servicing LEAP engines used in Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. With an investment of approximately ₹1,300 crore, the facility spans 45,000 sqm and aims to service up to 300 engines annually. It is expected to create over 1,000 high-skilled jobs by 2035. This development aligns with India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, promoting self-reliance in the aviation sector and reducing reliance on foreign MRO services. Modi emphasized the importance of this facility in enhancing India's position in the global aviation market and urged investors to view their contributions as partnerships in India's growth.
