Portugal’s Secretary of State for Science and Innovation Helena Canhão signed the Artemis Accords on Jan. 11 on behalf of the country. A ceremony recognizing the signing took place in Lisbon on Jan. 12, with Portuguese Space Agency executive director Hugo Costa and U.S. Ambassador to Portugal John J. Arrigo participating. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said Portugal joined nations building a framework for safe, transparent, and prosperous activity in space.
