Four members of a local peace committee were gunned down by unknown assailants in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. The killings took place in Bannu district near Mazang Chowk. Police and security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Pakistan has seen a surge in terrorist attacks, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, and a blast on January 12, 2026 killed at least six policemen in the province.
