The Finance Ministry announced that over 1.11 crore new PM Jan Dhan Yojana accounts were opened during a four-month nationwide campaign aimed at enhancing financial inclusion. The campaign, which concluded on October 31, also saw significant participation in insurance and pension schemes, with 2.86 crore enrollments in PMSBY, 1.40 crore in PMJJBY, and 44.43 lakh in APY. Organized camps were set up across the country to facilitate these enrollments, re-KYC for inactive accounts, and updates on nominations. The initiative aimed to bring every eligible citizen under key financial schemes, thereby boosting grassroots financial access and literacy. A total of 2,67,345 camps were conducted, reflecting the government's commitment to inclusive growth and financial empowerment.
