Maharashtra's Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has directed officials to develop a proposal for an AI-driven toll collection system at the Dahisar toll plaza in Mumbai. This decision comes in response to ongoing traffic congestion that hampers ambulances, school buses, and other essential services, contributing to increased pollution levels. During a meeting with various officials, Sarnaik emphasized the need for faster toll payments to alleviate delays. Although relocating the toll plaza was discussed, public opposition has made that option less viable. The immediate focus is now on implementing AI technology to streamline the toll collection process and reduce crowding.
