IndianOil Total Pvt Ltd (ITPL) has inaugurated a new greenfield Bitumen Derivatives Plant in Gummidipoondi, near Chennai, aimed at enhancing the supply of road construction materials in southern India. The plant, which was commissioned on November 20, will produce several forms of bitumen, including Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) and Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB). This facility is designed to meet the demands of national highways, state roads, and major city infrastructure projects. ITPL's Chairman Anuj Jain emphasized the plant's role in supplying high-performance materials tailored for local conditions. The joint venture combines IndianOil's distribution network with TotalEnergies' expertise in asphalt technology, ensuring improved supply reliability across southern states.
