Jian Guo, who served as an aide to Maximilian Krah, a member of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has been sentenced to four years and nine months in prison for spying for China. The court in Dresden revealed that Guo had been gathering sensitive information and passing it to Chinese authorities since 2002. He was also accused of spying on Chinese dissidents in Germany. Despite maintaining his innocence throughout the trial, the court deemed the case particularly serious, reflecting broader concerns about China's espionage efforts in Europe. Krah, who only learned of the allegations through the media, stated that he had increased security measures in his office following Guo's arrest.
