The Forest Department has alerted the public about the circulation of fake videos claiming tiger sightings near the Hediyala range of Bandipur Tiger Reserve. These videos, reportedly created using artificial intelligence, have caused significant concern among local residents. The Assistant Conservator of Forests stated that no tiger movements have been observed in the area, despite social media claims. The misinformation has led to fear and confusion, with locals hesitant to visit their fields. Recently, five tigers were rescued from the Hediyala range, but officials confirmed no tigers have strayed into human settlements. The department is urging the public to avoid sharing unverified content and warned that those responsible for creating such misinformation will face legal consequences.
