The startup, which has secured $3.5 million in funding, aims to protect homes from wildfires, a growing concern as these disasters cost the U.S. billions annually. The system operates by routing infrasound through ducts installed on rooftops, activating when sensors detect flames. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems, it does not require water, making it suitable for areas where water supply is limited. The technology has shown promise in early tests, with the potential to cover distances of up to 330 feet. Sonic Fire Tech is collaborating with utility companies to demonstrate its effectiveness in real-world scenarios.
