DGGI’s Hyderabad zonal unit arrested Sunil Kumar, Congress party’s Balkonda Assembly In-charge and Orange Passenger Transport managing director, in a case of alleged GST evasion. Officials said he allegedly collected ₹28.24 crore as GST and did not remit it to the government even three months after the due date. DGGI also arrested Trillion Lead Factory managing director N. Chethan, who is accused of orchestrating a fake Input Tax Credit racket involving transactions worth ₹22 crore. Both arrests were made under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, and further investigation is underway.
