Karnataka is preparing to unveil KEO, an AI-ready personal computer, at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025. This initiative, announced by IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge, aims to make intelligent computing accessible to all citizens, particularly targeting students and small businesses. KEO, which stands for Knowledge-driven, Economical, Open-source, is designed and developed locally, embodying the spirit of Karnataka. It features an open-source RISC-V processor and runs on a Linux-based operating system. The device includes essential connectivity options and comes pre-loaded with educational tools, including an AI agent to assist students. KEO is positioned as a solution to the digital divide, promoting inclusion and participation in the digital economy. The Bengaluru Tech Summit will showcase KEO, highlighting its potential to empower users across various sectors.
