Cairn Oil & Gas, part of Vedanta Group, announced the completion of India's first Sub-Sea Template installation in the Ambe offshore block on the West Coast. Using a jack-up rig, the operation represents an engineering first for the Indian upstream sector, aimed at unlocking value from marginal offshore discoveries. The Ambe block, awarded to Cairn under the DSF-III round, covers about 728 sq km off Gujarat's coast. The SST installation will facilitate accelerated drilling and monetisation of the field, contributing to increased domestic oil and gas production. This project exemplifies a scalable and cost-efficient approach aligned with the industry philosophy of "Design One, Build Many."
