In a recent review meeting, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called for the formulation of a comprehensive policy aimed at managing all types of plastic waste. He stressed the importance of achieving net-zero pollution levels through systematic monitoring and strict enforcement of pollution norms. Naidu highlighted the need for scientific studies on pollution across air, water, industrial, bio-waste, and plastic waste categories. He insisted on timely disposal of biomedical waste from healthcare facilities, with a strict 48-hour deadline. The Chief Minister also urged the adoption of biodegradable alternatives in agriculture and called for training programs on pollution control. Additionally, he requested that environmental clearances align with business guidelines to expedite industry approvals. The meeting included senior officials from various departments, who discussed the need for additional staff for the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board.
