A What happened
Amid ongoing aviation disruptions affecting travelers in India, Air India and Air India Express have announced a series of proactive measures aimed at assisting those stranded. Effective from December 4, 2025, both airlines have capped economy-class airfares on non-stop domestic flights to mitigate the impact of demand-supply dynamics. Additionally, they have introduced a special waiver for change or cancellation fees on eligible domestic bookings. Passengers who booked flights until December 4 and December 15 can reschedule without incurring rescheduling fees or cancel for a full refund without cancellation fees, provided they do so by December 8, 2025. The airlines have also enhanced their 24x7 contact centers to manage high call volumes and improve response times, offering multiple channels for passengers to reschedule or cancel their bookings.
