What happened
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recently concluded a two-day workshop on Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship at Vardhaman College of Engineering in Telangana. This workshop was part of a national initiative to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into school education, attended by 91 education officers, including District Education Officers (DEOs) and faculty from DIET colleges. AICTE chairman T.G. Sitharam emphasized the role of education officers as change agents in this movement. The workshop, organized in collaboration with various educational bodies, involved 1,500 officers nationwide across three phases. Participants engaged in sessions that included problem-solving and design thinking, and they visited the college's incubation center to see student prototypes, such as a sensor-based walking stick for the visually impaired and a solar-powered RO system. This initiative is significant for enhancing educational practices and fostering a culture of innovation among students.
