The Union Ministry of Environment has granted approval for a luxury hotel project by Adani Airport Holdings Ltd at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, with an estimated cost of Rs 136 crore. The project will consist of a five-storey hotel with 240 rooms and food-and-beverage facilities, designed to enhance passenger amenities and promote tourism in the region. The site, currently an open parking area, will undergo significant development, including the transplantation of existing trees and the establishment of a green belt. The hotel aims to create approximately 300 direct jobs and support around 900 indirect jobs. It will also implement sustainability measures, such as using treated water and reducing energy consumption. The project is part of Adani's broader development plan for the area, which includes serving air travelers and foreign crew from nearby Vizhinjam port.
