Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar welcomed the release of ₹5 crore from MPLAD funds by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for constructing a planetarium in Mysuru. Wadiyar said Sitharaman laid the foundation stone for the Cosmology Education and Research Training Centre project in Mysuru and additional funds have now been sanctioned. He said the planetarium is being constructed at the University of Mysore’s Chamundi Hill campus and will be the first inclined dome-shaped LED planetarium. He said the project is expected to encourage curiosity, learning, research, and innovation among youth and students and add a new dimension to Mysuru’s tourism profile.
