Israel continues strikes in Gaza and West Bank

Since February 28, 2026, Israeli strikes and raids in Gaza and settler attacks and military operations in the occupied West Bank have continued.
Why it matters
Since October 7, 2023, more than 72,000 people have been killed in Gaza, the majority women and children. About 1,200 people were killed in Israel and more than 250 were taken captive on October 7, 2023. Iran reported 1,255 people killed in US-Israeli attacks, mostly civilians. In the West Bank, Israeli soldiers or settlers have killed more than 1,000 Palestinians since the start of the Gaza war. Displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis are living in tents exposed to rain, heat, cold and wind.
