ED’s Headquarters Investigation Unit-II (New Delhi) filed the prosecution complaint before the Special Court for PMLA cases in Bengaluru against three accused in a gold-smuggling and money-laundering matter. ED states the probe was initiated off a CBI FIR dated March 7, 2025, following a DRI complaint, after 14.213 kg of foreign-origin gold (≈₹12.56 crore) was intercepted at Kempegowda International Airport on March 3, 2025. ED further reported subsequent recoveries of gold jewellery (≈₹2.06 crore) and cash (≈₹2.67 crore). Separately, DRI has filed a prosecution complaint under Section 135 of the Customs Act. ED also stated it provisionally attached immovable properties worth ₹34.12 crore in Ranya’s name via a Provisional Attachment Order dated July 4, 2025.
