Why Now
Amazon stated it will no longer charge referral fees (seller commissions) on products sold in India that are priced below 1,000 rupees. The new structure takes effect March 16. Amazon said the change expands a zero-referral fee policy launched last year that covered products below 300 rupees. Amazon said the expanded structure covers more than 125 million products. The company also said it is reducing some shipping charges.
