EU bars all sheep and goat movements out of Romania until 31 December 2026 after PPR outbreak
Romanian sheep and goat keepers and transporters cannot move animals outside Romania, to any Member State or third country, until 31 December 2026
- — Sheep and goat keepers and livestock transporters in Romania must not move ovine or caprine animals to any destination outside Romania, including transit through another Member State or movement to a third country, until 31 December 2026 — any such movement is prohibited under Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1387.
- — Operators within the protection (5 km), surveillance (20 km) and further restricted zones across Mureș and Sibiu counties must apply the disease-control measures of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/687 for animals and consignments inside those zones.
- — The Romanian competent authority for animal health must implement and enforce the replaced zone designations and the movement prohibition as set out in the Annex to the Decision.
