CAQM invoked Stage-I of the Graded Response Action Plan across Delhi-NCR with immediate effect after Delhi’s AQI reached 208 in the Poor category.
Why it matters
The order activates the Stage-I GRAP control set across the NCR. Implementing agencies and regulated operators must immediately apply dust, waste, traffic, vehicle-emission, industrial-emission, fuel-use, generator-use and public-transport measures to prevent further deterioration in air quality.
Implications
- — Construction and demolition project operators with projects of 500 sqm or more must meet registration and dust-mitigation requirements before continuing C&D activity under Stage-I GRAP.
- — Industrial units, brick kilns, hot-mix plants, hotels, restaurants and open eateries in NCR must comply with approved-fuel, emission-control and clean-fuel requirements under the Stage-I action plan.
- — Traffic, transport, municipal and DISCOM agencies in NCR must enforce PUC norms, visible-emission controls, waste-lifting, road-dust suppression, congestion management, uninterrupted power supply and public-transport augmentation.
