SEBI sets 30-day lag for educational use of market price data
→Education-data users must stop using market price data newer than 30 days
- → Market infrastructure institutions and registered intermediaries must share market price data for investor education and awareness only with a 30-day lag from 1 July 2026, except for NISM’s simulation-lab use where a one-day lag is allowed.
- → Entities engaged solely in education must not use market price data from the preceding 30 days to display or discuss a security name, code name, ticker, screen share or similar reference in a way that indicates future price, advice or recommendation.
- → Market infrastructure institutions and intermediaries must update data-sharing agreements to include misuse-prevention and audit-trail provisions before sharing price data for educational purposes.
