Currently, India has around 8,000 pilots, but many are inactive. The minister emphasized the importance of increasing the number of Flying Training Organizations to meet pilot demand. Additionally, the government is exploring the creation of dedicated cargo airports to enhance logistics capabilities. The long-term goal includes manufacturing and designing aircraft domestically, with a target to increase aerospace component production from USD 2 billion to USD 4 billion by 2030.
