Telangana issued three government orders on Feb. 11, 2026 splitting the reorganised Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation into Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, and a restructured GHMC with immediate effect.

Urban service delivery, budgeting, procurement, and permitting will now run through three separate corporations, requiring vendors, developers, and utilities to re-map jurisdictions and re-file/route applications by zone. Ongoing projects inside the Outer Ring Road may face handoff and coordination friction where works span the new boundaries, increasing schedule and contract-management overhead. With Jayesh Ranjan appointed Special Officer for all three bodies, near-term decisions and standardisation can be centralised, but operational execution will still be split across three administrations.
