Why it matters
On November 13, 2025, the Central University of Karnataka (CUK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Survey of India to promote collaboration in geospatial studies. The agreement was signed by R.R. Biradar, CUK Registrar, and Avanish Kumar, Director of the Karnataka Geo-spatial Directorate. CUK Vice-Chancellor Prof. Battu Satyanarayana highlighted the need for collaboration between academia and industry for national progress. The MoU aims to enhance practical learning and provide students with industry-ready skills. It will also facilitate research internships and joint projects, aligning academic curricula with industry standards. The partnership will involve experts from the Survey of India in curriculum development and academic advisory roles, ensuring that educational programs meet national geospatial policies.
