The Odisha Cabinet has approved the B-MAAN scheme, which stands for Building and Management of Aviation Assets and Network, with a total budget of Rs 14,182 crore. This initiative is designed to position Odisha as a prominent aviation hub in eastern India, focusing on comprehensive development across various aspects of the aviation sector. Key components of the scheme include infrastructure modernization, air connectivity enhancements, and the establishment of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities. The scheme also emphasizes the adoption of emerging technologies like drones and e-VTOL aircraft, aiming to foster innovation and green mobility. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen air cargo infrastructure to facilitate agricultural exports and industrial logistics, thereby integrating Odisha more deeply into national and global value chains. The initiative is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities through targeted skill development programs for technicians, pilots, and ground-handling professionals.
