On November 10, 2025, the Kerala High Court stayed the implementation of new renewable energy regulations for one month. This decision came after a petition from the Domestic On-Grid Solar Power Prosumers Forum-Kerala, which challenged the drafting of the regulations issued on November 5. The petitioners alleged that the KSERC, an independent regulatory body, had been influenced by the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). During the court proceedings, the KSERC indicated it would consider public objections before finalizing the regulations, which could take about a month. The court has instructed the KSERC and KSEB to submit counter affidavits addressing the allegations raised in the petition. The case is scheduled for further hearing on December 1.
