On November 4, 2025, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the Skill Development Policy 2025–32 during the Bengaluru Skill Summit. This policy aims to train 3 million youth by 2032, supported by a budget of ₹4,432 crore. It seeks to position Karnataka as a global hub for a skilled workforce, adapting to the demands of a post-pandemic economy. Key features include increasing women's enrollment in ITIs to 33%, doubling district-level skilling capacity, and enhancing global placement through the International Migration Centre–Karnataka. The policy emphasizes lifelong learning and strong industry collaboration through apprenticeships. Special focus will be given to women, marginalized communities, and the informal workforce. The summit is organized by various state skill development bodies, highlighting Karnataka's commitment to workforce development and knowledge sharing.
