Vodafone Idea will postpone most payments on its Rs 87,695 crore dues until 2031-2041 after the government granted a moratorium.

The dues will be paid in installments from fiscal years 2031-32 to 2040-41, while dues from 2017-2019 must be paid over the next five years. This relief aims to help Vodafone Idea survive as a viable telecom competitor, ensuring competition and consumer choice in the sector. The government is now the largest shareholder in Vodafone Idea through equity conversion of AGR dues.
