Why it matters
On November 15, 2025, the Cyient Foundation and SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation launched an AI and Future Skills Centre of Excellence at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre in Dimapur. The initiative aims to enhance employability and digital skills among local youth in India's North-East region. The facility will offer AI-integrated skilling programs across various domains, including handloom, handicraft, software coding, and robotics. The project was inaugurated by Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, with support from Nagaland's Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton and Cyient founder B.V.R. Mohan Reddy. The CoE is expected to train 200 to 240 youth annually, promoting entrepreneurship and digital inclusion.
