China has vowed to ensure the safety of foreigners in the country after Japan issued a warning to its citizens amid escalating diplomatic tensions. The situation intensified following comments from Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who suggested that Japan could intervene militarily if Taiwan were attacked. China, which views Taiwan as part of its territory, reacted strongly to these remarks. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning emphasized that the Chinese government will continue to protect foreign citizens in accordance with the law. During discussions between Japanese and Chinese officials, China lodged a strong protest against Takaichi's statements, asserting that they violate international law and damage the political foundation of China-Japan relations.
