The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has initiated a program to allow start-ups to utilize its wastewater treatment plants for developing advanced water recycling technologies. This move is part of the Brand Bengaluru initiative aimed at addressing the city's water challenges through local innovation. The first project under this program involves Boson Whitewater, which will set up its purification systems at the Kadubeesanahalli Wastewater Treatment Plant. The BWSSB will provide access to raw wastewater and assist in connecting treated water to potential buyers. This model incurs no financial burden on the board while transforming its facilities into live research environments. The initiative is expected to yield around 70,000 liters of high-quality treated water daily, promoting sustainable water reuse and enhancing the city's self-reliance in water management.
