The removal follows heightened tensions regarding immigration policies, particularly after a shooting incident at an ICE detention center in Dallas that resulted in fatalities. U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi emphasized that the app posed a risk to federal workers by disclosing their locations. The Justice Department had previously warned the app's developer about potential legal actions. Despite ICEBlock not collecting user data, the government maintains that such apps could incite violence against law enforcement.
