Amazon is working on AI-powered smart glasses specifically for its delivery drivers, aiming to enhance their efficiency and safety during deliveries. The glasses will allow drivers to scan packages, follow turn-by-turn directions, and capture proof of delivery without needing to look at their phones. They feature AI sensing capabilities and computer vision to display relevant information, such as hazards and delivery tasks, directly in the driver’s line of sight. The glasses will automatically activate when a driver parks at a delivery location, helping them locate packages and navigate to addresses. Currently being trialed in North America, Amazon plans to refine the technology before a broader rollout. Future enhancements may include real-time defect detection and hazard adjustments, further improving delivery accuracy and safety.
