The European Commission amended the EU HPAI emergency-measures annex to update protection, surveillance and further restricted zones after new outbreaks in Czechia, Estonia, France and Poland.
Why it matters
The amendment fixes the minimum areas that Member State authorities must keep under HPAI protection, surveillance and further restricted-zone controls. Poultry and captive-bird establishments inside the listed areas remain subject to the Delegated Regulation 2020/687 disease-control measures until the dates set in the amended annex.

- — Member State animal-health authorities must keep HPAI protection, surveillance and further restricted zones at least as wide as the areas listed in the amended annex.
