India waives import duties on 40 petrochemicals
- • Procurement teams at pharmaceutical, textile, paint, packaging, and toy manufacturers must front-load orders and expedite shipping to ensure listed petrochemical inputs clear customs before June 30, 2026 — imports cleared after that date will lose the duty exemption.
- • Import desks at petrochemical trading firms and independent chemical importers must schedule arrival and customs clearance of the listed products between April 2 and June 30, 2026 to claim the exemption; shipments cleared later will be charged customs duty and, for ammonium nitrate, the Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess.
