Change
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) notified that eligible exports made from April 1 through September 30, 2026 continue to qualify for Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) refunds at the rates and value caps that were in force on March 31, subject to the scheme's existing terms and conditions.
Why it matters
RoDTEP refunds cover taxes, duties and levies incurred in manufacture and distribution that are not reimbursed under any other central, state or local mechanism. Refund rates under the scheme range from 0.3% to 3.9% and claims must comply with the scheme’s existing terms and the value caps restored as of March 31.
Implications
  • Export finance teams at Indian exporters must file RoDTEP refund claims for eligible exports shipped between April 1 and September 30, 2026 immediately under the scheme's existing terms — failing to file compliant claims will forfeit entitlement to those refunds.
